On July 1, 2026, Monsignor Raymond B. Bastia became Rector of the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul.

Monsignor Bastia is not a stranger to the Cathedral Parish, as he has been in residence at the Cathedral rectory since 2018. He has also assisted his longtime friend Msgr. Mancini by regularly celebrating a weekend Mass at the Cathedral during his seven years as a priest resident.

In his ministry, Monsignor Bastia served the diocese as an assistant pastor, a teacher at Our Lady of Providence Seminary High School, and as the pastor of Our Lady of Grace Parish in Johnston, St.

Ann Parish in Providence, and St. Joseph Parish in Providence.

 

From 2006 to 2024, Monsignor Bastia also served as the Vicar for Planning and Financial Services for the Diocese of Providence.
